Your kids’ success in learning starts with you. Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for the school community while showing their kids the importance of participating in the larger community.

Not only will the school reap the benefits of your involvement, you will, too. By interacting with teachers, administrators, and other parents on a regular basis, you will gain a firsthand understanding of your child’s daily activities. You will also tap into trends and fads of school life that can help you communicate with your kids as they grow and change (all without intruding on their privacy or personal space).

Even if you haven’t been involved in the past, it’s never too late to start. In fact, it may be more important than ever to get involved when your kids are in elementary school. By the time they enter high school, there may be less opportunities as the schools may not need your participation as much.

Below are the list of current volunteer opportunities:

Class parent Coordinator	recruit other parents of the class to assist in class or on field trips by email. assist the teacher as needed to communicate with the parents. Organize the teacher’s Christmas and year end gift. Plan social events with the class ie. coffee mornings, dinners. Collect the class contact list and share with the parents so they can organize playdates and birthday parties.
Christmas Hamper Coordinator	organizing emails to be sent to families with donation requests via class parents helping to coordinate the donation day of moving the donations from the classroom boxes to the gym organizing a group to distribute the donations in the gym organizing a group to load the boxes onto the delivery truck organizing the unloading of boxes at the sister school.
Choir Rep Gr 1	Coordinate with our head Choir Lead, Veronika Florianova in organizing choir events for the grade 1’s.
Choir Rep Gr 2&3	Need help with logistics and coordinating at various performance events Parents needed for Grade 1, Grade 2-3 and Grade 4-7
Sr Choir Rep Gr.4-7	Coordinate with Veronika in organizing choir events for the grade 4-7’s
Bike Week Rodeo	Set up a bike Rodeo for K-Gr 2 to have some fun for an hour during the Bike Week
DPAC Rep	Monthly meetings with the District Parents Advisory Council
Sports parent roles	If you have a specialty in coaching or athletics of some kind, from Volleyball to ultimate would love to have your help! Need assistant coaches with cross-country and track & Field during practices, and other sports as needed Need parents to help during mini-meets for cross-country and track & field Need a manager to help with school sports shirt/singlet sales and distribution and collection
Clean the Sports Pinnies	During the sports season the pinnies need to be washed!
Volunteer at the library	Willing to work with our amazing librarian Mme Fabienne she needs help with Weekly organization with placing books back into the shelves Removing damaged books, outdated books, from the library and replacing with new books Help to acquire new books Help to organize displays in the school on different themes such as “Science”, “Body works”, “Nature”…
pump up balls in gym	As directed by Stella
Yearbook	Assist with the JQ year book creation
Class parent Rep
Website Coordinator	Oversee and update the website as needed
Terry Fox Run	Need a parent to shadow our current lead of this event for taking over next year Parents are needed at the corners of the school to keep kids safe and encourage them to keep going!
Walk and Wheel Week (Fall)	Parents along with kids will distribute tickets and prizes to kids participants Parents can also help in getting prize donations from our local businesses
Bike and Wheel (Spring)	Parents along with kids will distribute tickets and prizes to kids participants Parents can also help in getting prize donations from our local businesses
Hot Lunch	Volunteers needed at lunch to distribute lunches to the kids 30min commitment Monday or Wednesday or as needed- See the link on our website
Pizza Lunch	Volunteers needed on Fridays to distribute lunches to the kids. 30min commitment Monday or Wednesday or as needed- See the link on our website
Staff Appreciation Lunch	Help setting up and cleaning up the lunch room coordinating  food,table cloth and flower arrangement donations
